No matter how health class or parents try to drill in the importance of eating and what you put in your body, it never seems to get through to sugar-loving children. As fun as that may sound, those sugar-loving kids grow up to have a poor idea of nutrition and a poor diet. Luckily, we live in a time where we have an abundance of information at our fingertips. About ⅓ of U.S. adults (33.8%) are obese and 17% of children and adolescents aged 2-19 years old are obese. Even at a healthy weight, a poor diet is associated with major health risks, such as heart disease, diabetes, certain types of cancer, and hypertension.

Eating healthy and practicing physical activity positively impacts our health in several ways:
